Duration
This treatment will take up to one hour.
Anesthesia
You will receive local or general anesthesia with sedation or a numbing spray.
In/Outpatient
This procedure is usually outpatient.
Side Effects
Side effects of dermabrasion include temporary tingling, burning, itching, swelling
or redness. The treated skin may be lightened. You may have acute sensitivity to
the sun and an inability to tan.
Risks
As in all cosmetic procedures, there are some risks. You could experience
abnormal color changes, temporary whiteheads, infection, skin allergies or fever
blisters and cold sores.
Recovery
Normal activity may be resumed in about 2 weeks. Strenuous activity should be
avoided for up to 4 weeks.
Duration of Results
Dermabrasion results are permanent although new wrinkles may form with aging.
