Piedmont Plastic Surgery Fall 2017

Fall Time Banner

Welcome to Fall! The air is a little cooler, at least at night and thoughts are turning to fixing up for Furniture Market and then onto Holiday Season. Now is the time to make a plan for renewing sun damaged skin and if a surgical procedure is of interest, now is the time to get it scheduled before the end of the year rush. Our Annual Sale will begin October 16th, more information about that to follow.

CONGRATULATIONS DR. WILLARD! Dr. Willard has been recognized as one of America’s Best Physicians for 2017. Nominations and recognition are based on superior credentials, experience, exceptional care and commitment to excellence. Good job Dr. Willard!

YIKES, I’VE MET MY DEDUCIBLE! About this time of year and on through December we get lots of calls from concerned patients that they have met their deductible, have flexible spending accounts or just want to get some procedure before the end of the year and they find out that our schedule is full. Now is the time to plan for those procedures. Most treatments require an initial visit and then a second visit to remove, fix, or have surgery so schedule now before the end of year rush.

WHERE DID ALL THESE SPOTS COME FROM? If you spent time in the the sun this summer and on into early fall you may be seeing the results of sun damage. Skin can look dull, brown spots appear and fine lines and wrinkles that were not there before show up. Now is a good time to refresh and rejuvenate your skin. We have several options at Stillwater Face and Aesthetics. The Three for Me series of treatments with the ICON laser targets brown spots, facial veins, and sun damage. Customized chemical peels can jump start the rejuvenation process. Botox can soften those lines. Fillers can plump up areas of concern. Photo rejuvenation laser treatments can help maintain that healthy glow! If you are not sure what is the right treatment for you, schedule a complimentary consult at Stillwater Face and Aesthetics.

“DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON SALE” This is a frequently asked question, and the answer is yes! Coming up on October 16th we will be having the “Something for Everyone” 2017 Annual Sale. Prices for the annual sale will be good October 16ththrough the end of December. Details of the sale will be sent in a separate eblast next week. Facebook posts for Piedmont Plastic Surgery, PA and Stillwater Face and Aesthetics of High Point will also have sale information. You can also call 336-886-1667 and Peggy will have details at the front desk.

BUT I DON’T WANT TO BE CUT ON, DON’T YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR ME? Yes, we do! There are several non surgical therapies we offer. For fat reduction you might consider SculpSure or Vanquish. These treatments involve several sessions scheduled at intervals of a few weeks to about a month apart. Optimal results are typically seen at about 12 weeks. Thermi Smooth, Thermi Tight and Thermi VA are treatments that use heat to treat tissues to a predetermined therapeutic temperature. Radiofrequency energy is used to gently heat tissue to rejuvenate collagen. These nonsurgical treatments can be effective but may not duplicate surgical results, so schedule your consultation to see if your concerns can be addressed by any of these treatments.

“I JUST DON’T THINK I CAN PICK UP THE PHONE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT” Yes, we have heard that one before too. Some patients have thought about a procedure for a long time but just can not pick up the phone to schedule a consultation. Some think their situation is unique and no way we could relate. However, after almost 30 years of practice we have heard and seen a lot! So, if you don’t want to call, email us at inquiry@plasticsurgerync.com and we will call you! Judy Nelson, Patient Coordinator can answer your questions and schedule a consultation time for you. Our office staff is like family, Peggy Perkins will greet you as you arrive, Tammy Rice, RN and Becky Ayars, CNA II take over with your clinical history, and Dr. Willard and Judy Nelson finish up with details on your options for treatment, cost, timing and scheduling. Most consultations take about an hour and involve filling out registration/history forms, discussing your concerns, then talking about your options. When you leave our goal is to have made you comfortable, informed and better able to make a decision on whether the options are right for you.

KAY’S CORNER I get asked all the time, “What is the one thing you would do to look younger or make a change?” That is always a difficult question to answer because what bothers me might not necessarily bother someone else, but in my opinion the procedure that has the most impact is an eyelid lift or blepharoplasty. Heavy eyelids and/or bags under the eyes can give the appearance of being tired or mad all the time. Eyelid lift can remove excess skin where needed and the bags of excess fatty deposits under the eyes. The result is a more rested, alert and a look that a lot of Dr. Willard’s patients describe as “10 years younger”. For me, it was frustrating to put eye make up on, hold my upper eyelid skin up to apply the makeup, then let go and it all disappeared. So if I had to pick one procedure, eye lid lift would be it.
